News 2025 – “Biglietto Sospeso”

In the museums of the University of Pavia comes the “biglietto sospeso”. In collaboration with the Social Services Sector of the Municipality of Pavia, an initiative was born to facilitate access for people from our city in socio-economic difficulties to the cultural heritage of university museums.

The “biglietto sospeso” will be offered at the ticket offices of 5 museums of the University: museum Kosmos and museum Camillo Golgi in Palazzo Botta, Museum for the History of the University in the Central Palace of Corso Strada Nuova, Museum of electrical technology in via Ferrata and botanical garden in via Sant’Epifanio (from 4 May). The terms of the initiative provide that visitors to the Museums can buy directly at the ticket office, at a cost of 4 euros, a ticket which, with quarterly, will then be delivered to the Social Services Sector of the Municipality of Pavia to give it to people with economic fragility that the Sector has in charge. Each “biglietto sospeso” allows access to the museums of the Museum System and is valid for 6 months from the time of its first validation.

Who is this project, born from the synergy between the University and the Municipality, addressed to? To economically weak individuals who, thanks to the generosity of those who will join the initiative, can know and appreciate the collections of the historical-scientific heritage of the university in a perspective of accessibility and inclusion.

The agreement, signed by the rector Francesco Svelto and the mayor Michele Lissia, has a duration of one year to be renewed if necessary, Hoping that the citizenry will broadly adhere to the project designed to help overcome situations of need and to promote the well-being of all the people of Padua, also on a cultural level.
