National University Day- March 20th 2025

On Thursday March 20th 2025 the second edition of the National University Day “Universities unveiled” will be held. The initiative was established by CRUI – Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities, coinciding with the International Day of Happiness and within the Minerva Week, a period dedicated to the celebration of knowledge and education. The day aims to show the driving role that universities play in the development of the country and the promotion of social cohesion. This year the focus is on university cities, as privileged places of synergistic interaction between universities and territories. Places of production and sharing of knowledge, the university cities are platforms for innovation at the service of the country. Hence the strengthening of the CRUI – ANCI collaboration to make these cities increasingly functional, sustainable, dynamic and attractive for the benefit not only of the student communities but of the wider urban population of which they are part. An opportunity to reflect on the collaboration between Universities, Municipal Administrations and civil society, but also to promote new and more effective strategies of interaction for years to come.
The University of Pavia has joined the proposal by organizing – in collaboration with the Municipality of Pavia – a rich program of visits to spaces and facilities of the University and events – to which is added the guided tour of Palazzo Mezzabarba, City Hall – for the benefit of all citizens who will be able to discover the “wonders” of the University of Pavia and the city. The aim of the event is to offer a unique opportunity for participation, a moment of sharing the scientific and cultural heritage that the academic community produces for the society that supports it, with the aim of showing from within the life that takes place in universities, classrooms, courtyards, libraries, museums and laboratories.
The Museum of Electrical Technology also participates in the day with a guided tour of the collections at 16.00 in the company of prof. Paolo Di Barba, professor of electronic engineering at the University of Pavia and deputy director of the Museum.

All initiatives are free of charge and open to all interested parties.
